Pumpkin Protein Smoothie

The perfect blend of pumpkin spice, healthy, and nice. This fall inspired smoothie has a healthy dose of protein, omega-3s, and fiber.

There’s no denying some of the most crazy people are the pumpkin spice people. They go to great lengths to fit as much pumpkin spice consumption in between September 1-October 31. Starbucks just might be the craziest of all since they unleashed the PSL in August. (That’s what the cool kids call the pumpkin spice latte.)

This craze goes way beyond a seasonal latte. It’s taken over candles, dish soaps, dog treats, and even SPAM! Do the pumpkin spice people even want pumpkin flavored Spam?

I’ve never been a big pumpkin-flavored person and still won’t eat pumpkin pie, but as a holiday fanatic, I am all about the hype! I feed off the excitement of fellow pumpkin spice lovers so much that I started trying some of the seasonal goodies they rave about and I’m hooked! Trader Joe’s is one of the best places to pick up unique pumpkin snacks like pumpkin spice granola bark, pumpkin O’s, pumpkin waffles, and petite pumpkin spice cookies—my personal fave.

It can be super easy to go deep into a sugar coma with all these new pumpkin treats available. That’s what makes this healthy Pumpkin Protein Smoothie an excellent alternative to pounding pumpkin spice lattes.

This smoothie has a healthy dose of protein, omega-3s, and fiber—all of which keep you feeling happy and satisfied.

There are two ways to make it—with spinach and without. Adding spinach will give you more fiber and greens, but omitting it will create a beautiful shade of orange. Either way, you’ll be sipping a fall inspired healthy drink without the sugar hangover.
