This Apple Cranberry Sauce recipe uses simple ingredients. It’s gluten free and uses a little honey instead of loads of sugar. Enjoy it on top of a festive turkey or all on its own.
Whoever decided cranberry sauce was just for Thanksgiving robbed us of a fantastic fruity side dish at many meals. Here’s to enjoying it all winter long!
- 24 oz fresh cranberries
- 3 peeled, cored, and diced green apples
- 2/3 cup honey
- 1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 3 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1/3 cup water (optional)
- Add all the ingredients to a large pot and cook for 20+ minutes on medium-low heat. Stir occasionally until a delicious sauce texture is formed and the fruit is tender.
- Served chilled, warm, or at room temperature. Store in fridge.
